Schlossbrauerei Mariabrunn Dunkel

Mariabrunn Dunkel in a glass

I could not find much information on this beer. If  you know anything about it, please let leave a comment or contact.

This is a Munich dunkel, and is different than your average dark ale. Being a lager, it is much smoother, less fruity, but still has complexity from the dark grains.

Aroma

Slight Munich malt breadiness. No hop aroma, no diacytl

Appearance

Dark amber, crystal clear with a creamy off-white long lasting head.

Flavor

Starts with a slight flowery, noble hop flavor. Moves to lots of pumpernickel bread. Finishes slightly hoppy.

Mouthfeel

Medium mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Slightly creamy with a slightly dry finish. Moderate carbonation.

Drinkability

Good example of the Dunkel style. Slightly dry and refreshing but could use a slightly bigger body.

Overall Impression

I love Munich Dunkel. A nice toasty, malty, chocolaty lager from one of my favorite beer regions. Here is a review of one I had in the Munich airport.
